• Major 3 -- Emission control equipment fitted by the manufacturer - -- absent, or obviously defective or shows any signs of obvious tampering. (05.3)
• Major 1 -- Compression Ignition Engines Statutory Smoke Meter Test: a iii -- After a total of six accelerations have been completed, the average smoke opacity recorded for accelerations 4, 5 and 6 is more than: For vehicles first registered from 1 July 2008: 1.5m for all diesel engines or the level specified on the manufacturer's plate, whichever is lower.
